"You of the faculty and staff are exemplary of the fact that on this campus there need be no choice between academic achievement, intellectual inquiry, and simple faith and reverence." --Boyd. K. Packer
Professionally, I see myself first and foremost as a teacher. My most rewarding times in my career are without a doubt in the classroom with students. Students have always been the center of my instruction and teaching.
I have been blessed to be at Ricks College and Brigham Young University-Idaho where the focus has always been on students, learning, and teaching. I have also been fortunate to teach classes at Southwestern Oregon Community College and College of Idaho. I try to always be in the middle of course creation and re-creation. Every course is different because every student is different, and I'm always evolving as a teacher with new ideas and new approaches. I'm grateful that through teaching, through the discipline, and through students, I'm able to grow and develop. I will only highlight a few of the courses I have taught and have had a significant role in developing. I have divided them into rhetoric classes and literature classes. Each course links to its separate page. |
