Professional Readings List
"A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face. It is one of the few havens remaining where a man's mind can get both provocation and privacy." --Edward P. Morgan
Teaching continues to enthrall me. Every semester, every course, and every section seems new to me because of the students. There is always much to learn and rethink about teaching. I am always seeking for direction and inspiration about teaching. Below are talks, books, and articles that have motivated me to examine how I can strengthen what I do in the classroom. These are some examples of resources that help me develop professionally.
Perhaps two teacher/scholars that I turn to frequently are Edward P.J. Corbett and Peter Elbow.

Professional Organizations
For my entire career, I was an active member of The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), including its affiliates College Composition and Communication (CCC) and Teaching English in the Two-Year College (TETYC). I subscribed to and read their professional journals and presented nearly 25 times at national conferences.
